Well, you're the expert, so I'll let you judge

zmcontrol status reports it's the logger and mailbox...so that got my thinking it was SQL

    Here's the output
    BASE=/opt/zimbra
    + SCRIPTS='zmmtaconfigctl tomcat mysql.server'
    + STATUS=0
    + case "$1" in
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' zmmtaconfigctl = mysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmtaconfigctl status
    + R=0
    + '[' 0 -ne 0 ']'
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' tomcat = mysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/tomcat status
    + R=1
    + '[' 1 -ne 0 ']'
    + STATUS=1
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' mysql.server = mysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/mysqladmin status
    + R=0
    + '[' 0 -ne 0 ']'
    + exit 1

    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' tomcat = mysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/tomcat status
    + R=1
    + '[' 1 -ne 0 ']'
    + STATUS=1
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' mysql.server = mysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/mysqladmin status
    + R=0
    + '[' 0 -ne 0 ']'

sql is returning '0' (good) but tomcat is returning '1' (bad) - so the problem is that tomcat's not starting. Not sure what the problem with logger is (sh -x bin/zmloggerctl status)

    Logger:
    + BASE=/opt/zimbra
    + SCRIPTS='logmysql.server zmlogswatchctl'
    + case "$1" in
    + STATUS=0
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' logmysql.server = logmysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/logmysqladmin status
    + R=1
    + '[' 1 -ne 0 ']'
    + STATUS=1
    + for i in '$SCRIPTS'
    + '[' zmlogswatchctl = logmysql.server ']'
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/zmlogswatchctl status
    /opt/zimbra/bin/zmlogswatchctl: line 69: kill: (4092) - No such process
    + R=1
    + '[' 1 -ne 0 ']'
    + STATUS=1
    + exit 1

What can I do to figure out what's wrong. If I run tomcat status, it just kicks me back to the prompt

    Code:
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/zmlogswatchctl status
    /opt/zimbra/bin/zmlogswatchctl: line 69: kill: (4092) - No such process
I went ahead and manually started the zmlogswatch. . . But when I try to manually start the
    + /opt/zimbra/bin/logmysqladmin start-slave it replies:
    Code:
    [zimbra@tusd-exch01 bin]$ /opt/zimbra/bin/logmysqladmin start-slave
/opt/zimbra/logger/mysql/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)'

Logger's not running at all. Where did you get start-slave?

    Try zmloggerctl start.

what do you get from tomcat start?

Have you searched the forums for any of this? Server startup is a pretty common topic.
