Default [SOLVED] HELO/EHLO Problems - SERVER Being Rejected

Hi all,

I did search the forums prior to posting this question, so hopefully I didn't miss an article that has already dealt with this issue...

I am having issues with my server being rejected by other Mail Servers.

To give you all a brief overview of my setup, I have a single internal Mail Server using an Internal DNS Server to assist with sending outbound mail.

I have the options to use my ISP as my relay, but did not want to use that scenario, however my internal DNS does query my ISP's DNS for assistance in resolving domain names...

Our External DNS Pointer / MX Record is hosted by another local company.

I would say about 90% of my outbound mail, or more goes through successfully, but a few keep bouncing back saying my HELO name is my internal mail servers HOSTNAME...

zimbra.mydomain.local (server's hostname)

Now, I've set both the SMTPD_BANNER and the SMTP_HELO_NAME options using the "postconf -e" command the running "zmmtactl reload".

I've also attempted settings these with the "zmlocalconfig" command.

When viewing the /opt/zimbra/postfix/main.cf file, these options are both set, yet I still get Mail Delivery Failures rejecting my "HELO" name.

Here are two examples, the first was a test to cbl.abuseat.org, then 2nd to a local ISP Account:

MESSAGE 1

MESSAGE 2

you see then your mailer is broken

Any help is very much appreciated. Before migrating to Zimbra, I was using Exchange 2003, and was relaying through my ISP... Can this be done without having to relay, given my circumstances...

PS... I'm VERY happy with Zimbra so far... Just working out some quirks and getting use to the new environment...

I was however a big fan of POSTFIX even before moving to Zimbra...

One last note, I have restarted the zimbra server a few time, using the zmcontrol stop, then zmcontrol start commands...

Thanks in Advance.

you're superstar! =)
i'm very appreciate when peoples wrote these posts.
This command don't need to any other actions for changing HELO. I mean that HELO is changed immediately on the active zimbra server!

Thankyou very much!
