    Awesome...thanks uxbod!!

Yes changing to 30 made the difference and webmail and admin interfaces now available. Interesting how 30% on 8Gb is 2457.6MB and yet JVM is OK?

I read somewhere else that the break point is 2.5GB.

I have the same problem and i have adjusted it to 30% of 8GB RAM. It considers very well. However, when the system operates for some hours (about 4 hour), my system appear "Out Of Memory" or "Out Of Space". I think java had consumed out of memory (30% of 8GB RAM). Do you have any ways to fix the issue? is this the limit of java on 32bit system?

Have you tried the most obvious answer and reduced that percentage further?

Should I examine to reduce it to 25%, 20%, or 18%?

At the shell command prompt type
    Code:
    # free
and you should get some output like
    Code:
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 2065572 2008068 57504 0 123732 1278724
    -/+ buffers/cache: 605612 1459960
    Swap: 3229024 12 3229012
