Default Unknown Application Error on login

This probably sounds like an FAQ, but none of the prior postings I found addressed this issue; all of them seemed to have to do with nonstandard ports and such, but I am running out-of-the-box Zimbra open source on port 80. Running MacOS X 10.4.11 if that makes a difference.

Everything was going along fine till a couple of weeks ago when the system went down due to a power failure. I was able to get things running again after reading some posts about using db_recover on the logs, but I still can't log in to the web client. I always get that annoying message "An unknown application error has occurred. Please correct any errors and retry. If the problem persists, please contact your System Administrator. (service.PARSE_ERROR)". If I knew what the problem was, I would correct it and retry...

Anyone know what to do here?

Thanks

JEH

Are you using Safari 3, by any chance? Does it work with Firefox? Are you still on 4.5.x as per your profile?

Yes. I am using Safari 3.1.1. Yes, it seems to work fine with Firefox (2.0.0.14). Yes, I am still on 4.5.x. Man, you are a wizard!

What's the recommended fix/workaround?

I'm afraid the answer to that is an upgrade for Zimbra, the support for Safari in 4.5.x was beta and as far as I remember there's no workaround or using Safari3. This problem was common with Safari3 and the 4.5.x release, you could downgrade Safari as a workaround if you're not ready to upgrade or use Firefox.
