    Default Zimbra stoped working overnight

    Fedora Core 4
    Zimbra 3.0.0
    HP Proliant DL380

    Have mx record
Server is on my LAN --- 192.168.0.100
Redirecting ports on my firewall from public ip to 192.168.0.100

Can some one clarify wich ports must be redirected on my firewall after a fresh install of zimbra??? I will remove the ones i dont need after everything is runing smoothly but opening everything for now will sapre me some questioning or doubts about my problems.

Everything was working fine yesterday when I left work after a fresh install for testing. When I came in the morning couldn’t send or receive email. Restarted the server and still not working. Yum update to make sure everything is up to date and still not working.

Can some on help me ??

    Here’s a zimbra.log after a reboot this morning :

OK looks like spam filter is having trouble with ldap..

after i send myself two spam messages from : http://www.efextra.com/filtertest.asp

The third message crashes either LDAP or the SPAM Filter.

Here's the log so you can take a look... you notice the first two messages being blocked and then the errors.

Let me know what you think please.

I've never seen this one before.

It appears that when amavis fails an ldap search, it retries, first disconnecting and reconnecting to the ldap server (from the logs you posted, this reconnect is succeeding).

    Some questions:

Are all the spams going to the same address? Are all the messages the same?
What does df -h show? Both before and after the crash.

    Here's what I would suggest:

edit /opt/zimbra/amavisd.conf.in and change the log_level line to "5".
    zmamavisdctl stop
    zmamavisdctl start

Then recreate the problem, and post the (extremely verbose) logs from the session. After the crash:

zmcontrol status - that should reveal what all is down.

If that doesn't reveal the cause, we'll work on cranking up the ldap log level.

upgraded to 3.0.1 this morning and the problem is fixed.

Will try to find some time to ga back to 3.0.0 and recreate the problem.

Yes all spam is going to the same user.

    Thx for your help

Could this be caused by a firewall config ????

The file you want is /opt/zimbra/conf/amavisd.conf.in

Do you have SElinux enabled on this system? If you do, disable it as it causes Zimbra (and most applications) problems.
    Regards
