Default [SOLVED] Invalid credentials when config zimbra as dc

Hello all,
We want to use our Zimbra Server to act as a domain controller for our company. so i tried the install howto from the zimbra wiki (UNIX and Windows Accounts in Zimbra LDAP and Zimbra Admin UI - Zimbra :: Wiki)
everything went ok till part 3. When i am trying to restart the smb server my log writes following message:

[2008/07/02 13:45:55, 2] lib/smbldap.c:smbldap_connect_system(982)
failed to bind to server ldap://xxx.apus.xxx/ with dn="cn=config" Error: Invalid credentials
(unknown)

does anyone know what i made wrong?
thanks

regards Robert

Welcome to the forums. Did you make sure to do the following 2 pieces?

From Step 1: "Make note of the root LDAP password that is selected during the installation"

And continued in Step 3: "you need to tell Samba what is the root password for ldap. On your Samba server, restart samba services (/usr/sbin/smbd and /usr/sbin/nmbd) run the following command (replace test123 with your ldap root password). "
Quote:
smbpasswd -w test123

hello,
i have now solved the problem. the problem was that i didn't commented out the binddn and bindpw in the ldap.conf file.

now it works, but when i know want to edit a user account and add them to a new possix group i got following error:

Message: invalid request: LDAP schema violation: [LDAP: error code 65 - attribute 'loginShell' not allowed] Error code: service.INVALID_REQUEST Method: ModifyAccountRequest Details:soap:Sender

is there a probleme with my nis.schema?

AHHH, but when I add a new user ... i am allowed to enter a bash ... hmmm

how can i edit a user to add them to a posix group?

regards Robert
