Default Two Zimbra Installations in the same server?

Hello,

We want to offer Zimbra to one of our customers, but we want to do a separate installation in the same server for another domain. Is it possible?

The objective is that our customer be able to manage his own installation, accounts... and not view our data, our previous installation.

Thanks

No, that's not possible unless you install it in a VM.

Not if you want separated access to the admin area, at least not in the OSS edition. If the paid-for edition supports delegated admin rights then yes.

As mentioned above, virtualisation is the only way to run two Zimbra installs on the same physical machine with the F/OSS edition. This is, of course, far more resource intensive then just adding more accounts to an existing system. Any you'll need a spare static IP address to assign to the new service.

If you do run two copies of Zimbra in VMs (or one on the host machine and one in a VM) then I suggest you tweak the cron-job timings so both installs don't start things like the stats collection processes at the same time. It is also a good idea to have the two installs on separate physical drives as I/O contention (both raw throughput and head movement requirements) will most likely be your biggest performance hit.

The Network Edition has a Domain Administrator option. Here's the details from the ZCS built-in docs:

Domain administrators manage the following tasks on their domain:

* Provision new accounts, but they do not assign features or attributes. The domain COS is configured with the features and attributes for accounts.
* Edit account information
* Change passwords.
* Change the status of an account
* Create, delete, and move aliases
* Create, modify, and delete distribution lists
* Assign other users as a domain administrators
* Download and run the import and migration tools
* View mailbox quotas.
* Set mailbox quotas (optional). The domain administrator can set mailbox quotas if the global administrator enables the domain administrator configuration to modify the account mail quota.
