Default Upgrade hangs @ starting mysql

Upgrading from 5.0.5 to 5.0.6 and for some reason the upgrade just stops when it comes to starting mysql...

I also noticed some errors when the install verifies the message store..

Verifying integrity of message store databases. This may take a while.

OK

I've restored from a backup.. problem is its a few days old so I'm sure there will be missing data.. I've copied the /opt/zimbra directory prior to restoring..

I can't just copy /opt/zimbra over im sure, because its corrupted since the upgrade failed.

Is there a way to just restore the message data and calendars?

Can I just copy over the following directories -- /opt/zimbra/store, db, index, openldap-data ?

Murphys law...

the backup file will not restore! lovely.

So now I'm left with a working fresh install of zimbra with no users, mail, calendars.. and a backup of the corrupt /opt/zimbra files.. can anything be salvaged?

I'm doing this all in virtual environments, so I still have the corrupt version where it hangs @ the mysql install.

I created a new "VM" and installed a fresh copy of Zimbra.

On my old VMware server I think i still have a running copy of zimbra which was migrated to the new server ~7days ago.. so the files may be out of date, but the copy on that machine should still be operational...

How much memory have you got allocated to the VM that Zimbra runs in?

is it possible to just move the directories -- /opt/zimbra/store, db, index, openldap-data to the working VM?

will that work or am i going to end up with more errors?

Should it? Is that burst memory you're are mentioning as the 1-1.5GB? What are you using for virtualization?
