Default [SOLVED] ZCS and Openfire

Hi,

Is it correct to say you need to install both ZCS and Openfire to benefit from from both software ?
Hosted demo let me think Openfire could be installed as a ZCS component.

No, you don't need to install them both. Zimbra has an IM feature in it.

Strange as I don't remember any IM-related question during ZCS 5.0.5 Open Source Edition.

Now, I can't see the "IM (beta)" folder I could see on hosted demo.

So either :
- my memory fails
- I choosed the wrong version of ZCS
- I still have something to install or tweak to include IM functions.

What do you think ?

PS: I didn't a line in Zimbra Wiki about Zimbra and Openfire. Which source of documentation is recommended on this specific topic ?

As I already answered on the french forum, IM is here, it's beta and you need to enable it by hand (with CoS and even a bit of CLI in some cases).

Thanks

And for documentation, do you think (various) forums are the only source of information ?

Currently, yes.

I don't think there'll be official documentation (server side) as long as IM is in beta.

This is not a good news as Forum is not the best media for this.

Maybe, someone should add a line somewhere in the wiki confirming this : people would stop to wonder if they searched in right place.

I thought I could add an Openfire line here (ZCS Architecture and Components - Zimbra :: Wiki)
and then a new page explaining what you said.

Would say it's a good idea ?

Feel free to add the comment to the wiki, this is a community project and open to all.

Done !

A question remains : how do you activate OpenFire (as it is supposed to be present by default) ?
In my ZCS OSS 5.0.5 setup, I can't see any trace of any XMPP-Jabber-OpenFire sub-directory in either /opt/zimbra nor /etc.

Do you have clue on this ?

Code:
su - zimbra

zmprov -l -v mcf zimbraXMPPEnabled TRUE
zmprov -v mc default zimbraFeatureIMEnabled TRUE
zmprov -v mc default zimbraFeatureInstantNotify TRUE
zmcontrol stop
zmcontrol start
Obviously set the COS to the one you use if it's not the default.
