Default restore from Milestone version to new GA

I made a boo boo. Not going into the whole gory details, but here is the situation :

My old zimbra release milestone release 3, I backed up the full zimbra into another server. Then I proceeded with upgrading to the GA release, however there were some issues with my domain name from the get go, so the upgrade did not go smooth and I finally decided to do a ./install.sh -u (which wiped out my full zimbra installation.)

Then, I installed the GA fine..
Now, I copied back the zimbra store/index/db to /opt/zimbra. But cannot fully restore all my mails. I get the server up and running just fine, however do not see the domains I had in the past.. the old admin account does not work as well.

How can I get my mails back with the user settings ? any help appreciated.

You should install the previous milestone release then copy your backup over the milestone install then do an upgrade to the GA release. AFAIK, that's the easiest method of retrieving your mail.

Default porting the mail

That is what I tried at the beginning, but for some domain name issues I failed.
If I want to make another machine with the GA release, how can I port my mail there then from this milestone release ?

As far as I know that's the only way to get your mail back. Which Milestone version were you on?

I was on Milestone release 3. Now I would like to move to the GA release but looking for an easier way to transport existing accounts and mails. There are over 60 mail accounts, so I am looking for something quick and dirty.
