Default addition to the previous question

just to add to the the first question,if i am giving a command :
    ./zmcontrol start
in /opt/zimbra/bin directory,It gives an error that "must be run as zimbra user".I am really confused about how i can run as a zimbra user.In my FC4 system,I have one root user & one other user.what should i do to be a zimbra user?

not sure where this part went:
    ./zmcontrol start
in /opt/zimbra/bin directory,It gives an error that "must be run as zimbra user".I am really confused about how i can run as a zimbra user.In my FC4 system,I have one root user & one other user.what should i do to be a zimbra user?
whoa dude. when you installed zcs it should have created the zimbra user automatically. as root you should be able to enter su - zimbra to become the zimbra user. then you can enter zmcontrol start to start the server up

how can i start zimbra server after restarting my machine?
do you want zimbra to start automatically when the server boots? that should also have been set by the installation.

what do you see for zmcontrol status

ok,i got it how to be a zimbra user but i am sure that my zimbra server is not starting automatically when i reboot my pc,because after restart when I try to open zimbra dmin panel in my browser,it doesn't open.
another thing i want to ask is what do these lines mean?

(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:7780
no listening sockets available, shutting down
    Unable to open logs

No automatic startup on the mac.

Sounds like the spell server can't start because the port is in use.

Default Same Spell error on FC4

I'm also receiving the error when trying to start Spell. zmconfigure reports:

    Host mail.domain.com
    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Running
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Stopped

It's a fresh FC4 install just for Zimbra. No frills. Everything else seems to work fine.

    Ideas?

So, I am wondering if the inital question could be answered. The thread sort of got hijacked by the fact that he wasn't running things as zimbra user. I -am- running the process correctly, but am receiving the same error:

    [zimbra@mail bin]$ ./zmspellctl stop
    httpd (pid 21443?) not running
    [zimbra@mail bin]$ ./zmspellctl start
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:7780
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:7780
no listening sockets available, shutting down
    Unable to open logs
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

You should not post your questions to a thread that's eover two years old. Shutdown Zimbra, when you done that see if there's any other zimbra processes running and kill them if there is. Start Zimbra again and if you get a problem have a look in the log files for any errors and please start a new thread with the details of your problem. You should also update your forum profile with the output of the following:

    zmcontrol -v
