sounds like an update has restarted an old mta. do
lsof -i 25
or
ps -ef |grep postfix
ps -ef |grep exim

while zimbra is shut down, to see what is running. rather than shutting down an existing mta, remove it, or at least disable it in runlevels. this way it won't start up again randomly.

I was looking at programs to monitor bandwidth. It is very possible that one of those installed courier-mta. So far install shows no conflicts.
thanks for the very quick reply

Default 5.07 update

I updated both systems today from 5.06 to 5.07 without a problem. both are running kubuntu 8.04. Thank you for the community builds.
