I reinstalled this morning without a problem. status showed all is running. I opened admin and the only problem showing is it says the logger service is not running. I had a cert error but fixed that. still working on the logger problem.
thanks
Bill

what cert error?

for logger service, make sure zimbra crontab has been set correctly - you should see 2 minute status entries in /var/log/zimbra.log if so.

this was an error I ran into before after doing several attempts at an install. this is the thread that corrected it. [SOLVED] need help with 2 errors
how do I check to make sure zimbra crontab is correct?
during install there were no errors at all.

very odd. do you see anything untoward in /opt/zimbra/log/zmlogswatch.out, /opt/zimbra/log/zmswatch.out or /var/log/zimbra.log?

What happens if you do:
zmlogswatchctl start
?

oh. sorry, my bad.

if you do:
ldd /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so
you'll probably find a not found against libmysql. this is due to the very odd way zimbra builds and packages mysql. i fixed this for the 64bit build, but obviously forgot to for the 32bit build. will rectify for the next build. in the meantime, you can fix it like this:
cd /opt/zimbra/mysql/lib/mysql
tar cf /tmp/libmysql.tar libmysqlclient.so*
cd /opt/zimbra/mysql/lib
tar xf /tmp/libmysql.tar
cd /opt/zimbra/lib
tar xf /tmp/libmysql.tar

then fully stop and start zimbra.
