Default Installation alongside separate POP/Imap mail server

We are in the process of testing Zimbra to see if it meets the needs of our users and I am wondering if we can run Zimbra alongside our current POP/Imap mail server for some of our users.

We currently have a linux server using Dovecot and sendmail (most are using POP) and I dont want to interrupt that process just yet, but I would like to migrate a few users over to Zimbra so they can test. Is there any documentation somewhere that can help me accomplish this?

Welcome to the forums.

If by 'alongside' you mean on a separate server then the Split Domain article should describe what you need.

I've been told to follow the directions for a Split Domain.

Supposedly this does exactly what you want. i'm in the process of trying it myself.
