What installation document are you following ? Have you read through this ? http://www.zimbra.com/docs/os/latest...erver_install/

What O/S are you running ?

You do need MTA and LDAP installed for it to run. Port conflicts could be either when you de-installed and re-installed ZCS some old processes were still running, or the O/S has installed a MTA or LDAP server.

So, shutdown ZCS and then remove it. Then make sure no old processes are running under the zimbra user. Then check that no other MTA or LDAP is running. You can use netstat -an to see if a port is open.

We can help but please help us to help you

OK, sorry for not providing enough info. I have rebooted and done a fresh install with no errors on a CentOS 32bit 5.1 install using 5.0.5

I would like to tie this install into my internal LDAP immediately. I plan to go live in two week with this on the DMZ, and my dual WAN firewall forwarding LDAP traffic between WAN connections. I plan to use the Zimbra tool to migrate my users over fro mtheir existing POP accounts. Once I go live, if everything's working I'm confident Zimbra will beat out Exchange at my company. I just need to make it work.

Ok. So would you be so kind as to clarify that your installation is now fully working, and what you want to do next is hook into into your internal LDAP for authentication ? If so, what LDAP setup are you using internally ie. AD ?

Hey thanks for your patience, uxbod. Installation is up and running and now I can log into it using the admin gui.

Not using AD (thank god), using open source LDAP.

Changed over to Ubuntu since if I get this running, we're buying Zimbra. Latest anguish here
