Yes.
More and more e-mail servers in the world have this restriction: that
the IP must resolve to the e-mail server.
Unfortunately, for those of us who don't fully control our own dns (i.e
we are setting something up from home), frequently the service provider,
such as Verizon or Cox, need to be called up and asked to change the
reverse dns.
For example, the IP resolves to blahblahblah.verizon.net, not to
myeemailserver.domain.com
They will change this for you if you have static IPs, and you give them a call.
Or, if you're running your own dns, then just make sure the IP resolves to
your e-mail server and you'll be fine once the changes propagate. |
