Default test, or deploy?

They may not test on their live server, but it's not likely that anyone serious about email is going to deploy it on an OS platform labeled "unstable" - so it's reasonable to assume that they will test zcs on the platform they plan to deploy it on. Thus, debian-stable.

Cross posting is rude. Your question only needs to be posted in one thread.

actually, etch is not unstable, but testing. testing in debian is generally a rather stable release, and used in production by many (including myself).

As I'm planning a migration to zimbra (staying on debian as it's our main server OS), I'd rather use directly debian etch rather than sarge, as etch should be released within some weeks.

Right now, I'm wondering what zimbra's position regarding etch will be.

Regards,
Artturi

We won't make a determination until it's released.

It should be noted that there will not be a NE of Zimbra until that nasty permissions bug gets fixed.

Default etch question again

Debian etch is stable since some months now... Is there still no release planned for it?

Thanks,
PP

Default svn only?

Thank you for the swift answer!

Do I correctly assume that you have no release yet for debian 4.0 (etch)?
I could not find any release labeled debian 4.0 neither in the download area, nor on sourceforge.
I tried to install zcs-4.5.6_GA_1044.DEBIAN3.1.tgz and zcs-5.0.0_BETA2_1092.UBUNTU6.20070718133449.tgz, of course with no success.

If there is a prepackaged debian 4.0 install anywhere to be found, please let me know!

Hi

Looks like there will be an etch release in the near future (next release perhaps?) but not for the current build. Which is great news, hurrah, thanks Zimbra!

For the time being, you can use the Sarge 3.1 binaries to install onto Etch with a little fuddling. There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum with instructions.
