Default mta sevice can not start

Hi
i've installed zimbra successfully and it run well .
yesterday , i have to restart my server(redhad as4 ) and restart zimbra by (./zmcontral start)

it can not start mta ....

how can i trobleshot the problem..

where is the log ?

Welcome to the forums.

Which version of Zimbra is this? Is this a new install or upgrade? Do you have valid DNS A & MX records and a correct /etc/hosts file? What does a 'zmcontrol status' show? You'll find the log files details in the wiki.

my zimbra is 3.x installed in 2006.

Upgrading would be the eventual aim but I'd suggest getting this server up and running first. Which operating system is this? Have a look in the logs and see what errors there are and post some details of the problems.
