Unhappy [SOLVED] zdesktop_beta_build_1083 Fails to start!!

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 (i know its not officially supported) and have installed and re-installed beta_build_1083 several times with the same results...

the zimlet injection always fails and I always get a : "The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:7633." error.

It sucks when i cant even open the program!!

Hopefully there is some help out there!

I am launching the program from the desktop icon...

are reffering to the actual zdesktop file in the zimbra folder?

in the zdesktop directory execute :-

Code:
./zdesktop start
and then open the desktop app.

It is documented here Zimbra Desktop - Zimbra :: Wiki

I get

bmullins@bmullins-rhel:~/zimbra/zdesktop$ nohup: appending output to `nohup.out'

and i still get the "The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:7633." error.

Starting zdesktop
bmullins@bmullins-rhel:~/zimbra/zdesktop$ nohup: appending output to `nohup.out'

And i have no clue what nohup.out is, sorry

nohup.out is a file which gets generated when a process forks and does not die when the session closes.

Just do :-

Code:
cat nohup.out
and post the contents.

nohup.out zdesktop.err zdesktop.out
bmullins@bmullins-rhel:~/zimbra/zdesktop/log$ cat nohup.out
bmullins@bmullins-rhel:~/zimbra/zdesktop/log$

Other than the zimlet's I think the biggest problem is the:

"The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:7633." error.

I am unable to even open the program due to this, and i am not sure exactly what it is trying to connect to!
