Using Zimbra with an exchange server problem

I am brand new to Zimbra and very new to exchange administration.
I have a functional exchange server which delivers mail to my Zimbra desktop client fine but I cannot send mail. The log says:

2008-03-07 12:12:49,469 INFO [btpool0-51] [name=user@domain.com;mid=2;ip=127.0.0.1;ua=ZimbraWebClient - [unknown] (Win)/0.0;] offline - SMTP send failure: Fwd: Message Title

I am certain that it is the account setup in Zimbra for outgoing mail.
I don't know how to find the correct servername and port because I have tried every combination of what I can see on my exchange server.

like:

MX1.DOMAIN.COM ports 25, 143 and 993
SMTP.DOMAIN.COM ports 25, 143 and 993

Where DOMAIN is our real domain name.

What am I missing?

Hi, and welcome to the Zimbra forums!

Are you connecting via pop3 or IMAP? Do you have TLS turned on? TLS is encryption for pop3/imap. If you have it on, you have to be sure to tell Zimbra Desktop.
