Question Unable to log into Admin console after upgrade from 4.5.9 to 5.0.2

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my system from Zimbra OS 4.5.9 to 5.0.2 (running on CentOS 5 i368).

After upgrading, I can log into my mailbox and send/receive mails normally. However, I can not log into the Admin console.
The admin login details are correct (not changed) but I got some JavaScript error messages and the Admin console screen does not appear replaced for splash screen (Loading... screen with Zimbra logo).

Please help me to solve this.

Thanks,
Tuan

Did you clear the browser cache? Which browser and which operating system are you using when you try the login?

Hi Bill,

Thank you for your reply.

I had this on Firefox and IE7 on Windows Vista and Firefox and IE6 on Windows Server Ent 2003.
Before that I just used FF on my Vista to access Admin console. It's the first time on the others.

Regards,
Tuan

Hi Bill,

I did not see any error messages on Firefox (JS error messages notification maybe disabled on FF) but I can see them on IE6 and IE7.
Please see attach.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,
Tuan

Dear all,

Finally, I found the solution myself. It's so simple:
  1. stop zimbra;
  2. undeploy both old Admin extensions: zimbra_samba and zimbra_posixaccount;
  3. also clear the jetty/work/* (all files/sub-folders);
  4. start zimbra
That's all.

Regards,
Tuan

Default Unable to log into Admin console after upgrade from 4.5.9 to 5.0.2

Hi Bill,

I've done the same thing by cleared off the cache in the browser, but still unable to log in to administration console.

I am currently running zimbra version 5 just updated from version 4 on Linux Red Hat Enterprise 5.

Please advised on how to fix this issue in order to see the admin console come out.

Thanks
