Error message:
Initializing ldap...

IO::Socket::INET: connect: Connection refused at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmldapinit line 160.
failed. (28416)

Please assist. I've read all the other posts regarding "connection refused", but none addressed my issue. Is there any other data I can share to describe this issue? ... log files?

The problem is that it's not on a unsupported platform.

Basically, we have a shell script called get_plat.sh
That script get's your platform. Then the installer decides what it needs to do (based on platform) what it needs to do to get the SSL Cert installed.

Since your platform isn't on there, it doesn't create the cert, and fails.

"unsupported platform" aside, try to change /etc/redhat-release to a supported platform

Thanks, jholder. I just changed /etc/redhat-release:

FROM: Fedora release 8 (Werewolf)

TO: Fedora release 7 (Werewolf)

... and install completed successfully, except for the zmapchectl was not running; spell was stopped. It appears Fedora 8 only comes with libexpat.so.1. So, once I installed compat-expat1, there were no complaints from zmapachectl or spell about libexpat.so.0 missing.

I have not provisioned, yet, but for now the install completed successfully and zmcontrol status shows all Running.

I'm installing on Fedora 7 and having the same issue.

LDAP certificate fails to be created. This is a clean install of Zimbra on a clean install of Fedora 7.

Obviously, changing the /etc/redhat-release file isn't going to work.

Any other ideas?
