| | | [solved]Problems with Debian etch and zimbra 5.02 Open source edition Hi All,
I receive a --crc error when uncompressing the archive of the new zimbra release for debian 4. It's two days that i'm tryng to re-download the archive but i get the same error.
Any help?
thanks
P.S. I've tried with the previous release of zimbra (5.01) but i get the same error. I think it's impossible that all of two archives are corrupted!!

| | | md5sum the file and post it here. I'm sure someone can confirm whether your copies are correct.
I'd guess that you have something flaky on your end and might want to try the torrent download, since it does verification itself. In fact, grab the torrent and tell it to save on top of your current download. It'll fix the file for you.
If the torrent app says it's good but you're still getting the error, something is hosed on your system there. |

| | | The problem was the RAM on the machine. I'm sorry but the problem was not the zimbra archive corruption, it was the RAM that was installed on my machine.
Thanks. |

| | | That makes sense. RAM is probably the most critical part to get right in any computer, as a bad CPU tends to show itself in a quite noticable manner where RAM can cause all kinds of subtle problems before it does something major enough to get you looking.
If you remove those caused by infections and such, probably 50% of the crashing Windows machines I've troubleshot have had bad RAM. The other half are usually bad drivers or important hardware like the video card failing. |

| | | corrupted tarball Downloading (direct; not torrent) open source zimbra 5.0.2 for Debian 4.0 I always get a corrupted tarball (tried downloading using two different clients in different geographic locations to exclude hardware/network issues).
I have been trying this for a while. Can anyone confirm whether there is a crc problem with the tarball, or am I being an idiot?
Thanks
Simon

I just download directly in my debian server, with the wget command in incarnis reply, and it's ok

| | | strange but [SOLVED] Hi
Thanks for your help guys. I just re-downloaded it to my USB key at work and FINALLY I get the correct md5sum. Oddly enough, this is via firefox, but wget fails every time!
Maybe I just have a dubious network connection at home, and was unlucky enough to get a one-off corruption last time at work?
