Default Restoring to version 5

I am looking to move over from 4.5.10 to 5.0.2 soon.

However after seeing this bug;

Bug 14002 - Add conversion tool to upgrade backup versions to allow restore on later zcs versions

I'm not sure this is going to be easy!

I have setup a new replacement server running a clean install of 5.0.2 and would like to migrate across from the old server running 4.5.10, is there an easy way to do this short of installing 4.5.10 on the new server, restoring the accounts and then upgrading to 5?
I'm a little reluctant to do this as there are some on here having trouble with the upgrade from 4 to 5.

What's the easiest way for me to get the old accounts and settings onto the new server Guys?

Thanks
Russ

You can not change server and upgrade at the same time.

Take a look at this : http://www.zimbra.com/blog/archives/...er_server.html

Thanks for the very quick reply Klug!

I see from the article how you can move to the new Server but this won't work with my existing 4.5.10 install being moved to the new 5.0.2 Server will it?
I assuming there are too many differences between the two?

Thanks again.

Russ

As I just said, you can not upgrade and move at the same time.

Either you upgrade first (4.5.10 to 5.0.2 on old server) then backup 5.0.2, then move...

Or you remove 5.0.2 on the new server and setup 4.5.10 on it. Then you move, then you upgrade once on the new server.

I'll guess I'll do the latter then, thanks.
