Default Steps for upgrading 5.01 to 5.02

Hi,

Is there an advised method for upgrading between zimbra versions? E.g: backup, stopping, installing, starting? Also will the changes I made to postfix main.cf (for pyzor and razor) be lost? Will the domain masquerading be lost as well?

Using Ubuntu 6.06LTS and Zimbra 5.01 FOSS

Just run the ./install.sh script to upgrade, that will stop the services and upgrade. Yes, any changes to main.cf file will be lost and need to be applied again. Of course good practice dictates that yoy take a backup of Zimbra before doing the upgrade.

And what about the domain masquerading, filters, distribution lists, settings made in Zimbra?

Any changes you've made through the gui or cli will stay, it wouldn't be too bright if we wiped them out every time you did an upgrade.

Masquerading and upload limit is set from the command prompt using zmprov, so I'm guessing those will stay as well right?

Yes, that's the CLI (Command Line Interface tools).

Thanks. It worked perfectly. I was able to update. I had to add the additional info to the config files but aside that it is working nicely now.
