Default moving across pages of emails

If I have 500 emails, with a view of 100 emails per page, apart from seaching, it is not easy to jump to the 350th email, without paging through 101-200, 201-300, 301-400.

Can a page jump be added to this, so I could jump to the range I want?

asked same Q 2 years back..lol..the logic zimbra uses is

"you know what you looking for to start with so its not fruitful to scroll/page 500 items..that means you will read 500 message subjects lines to get to the one you want.."

So to get to the email you want you will SEARCH it and reduce the number of email to respectable number 1-10 or less so you can see all of them on 1 page

** Yes we all like to page and stuff but truly there no need..also you can SAVE your searches if you find that same item regulalry..so all you do is click and get to the few emails out of 500 in 2 seconds

on another point if you have 100 item paging your initial login will take longer as zimbra loads the items on page 1..so lesser the items on a page faster zimbra will load

maybe that's a bit of 'designed by techies, for techies'! Normal users sometimes operate in normal ways and have normal expectations!

What would be nicer, would be a simple method to jump to the next unread message (or conversation) in a folder. That would really improve the navigation in the web client.

Advance Search -> Search By Status -> check UNREAD and save your search..

After that all unreads will be 1 click away all the time

Nice, but still not easier than hitting "n" or "+" to cycle through all the new messages. The less my hand sits on the mouse, the better.

The Zimbra web client does have keyboard shortcuts, similar to the "n" or "+". The '[' key will jump to the next unread message and ']' jumps to the previous unread. Go to Preferences --> Shortcuts to see a list of other shortcuts.

Except that doesn't jump between folders, or even between conversations when in conversation view. It just jumps between messages in list view.

It's a good start ... but only half-functional at best.

And those mappings are exactly backwards.

Well, for me, anyway. :-)

Up=Left, and Down=Right, almost anywhere I ever look.

Are those mappings user/admin changeable?

And, additionally, those refocus the message list, so there's no way to buzz through mail without using the mouse -- the *only* obvious way to page down through a message from the keyboard (<SPACE>) doesn't work from the message list pane. Am I missing something here?

I just opened a bug on the related issue that the arrows and bracket keys for navigation don't skip pagination boundaries, and I'll be opening a bug on this specific point (the inability to buzz through an entire folder using nothing but the spacebar) just as soon as I figure out how to characterize it properly to get it all fixed at once.
