Default Pop3 management

I have installed a new Zimbra server to test it's functionality and am pretty impressed so far.

One area I am having some issues is pop3 mail management.

Serveral users use several accounts, that are ours, but on hosted servers. I have set myself up and can send/receive email email through the main domain fine. I have also set some of the other domains up and , when writing a new message, select one of the others, but on receipt, it is on the main domain.

How can I set up so the selected domain is the sending domain?

Re collecting pop3 emails, how can I set the server to automatically collect all acccounts? Going into each account and doing it manually is pointless and having all mails go to themain folder to then be manually sorted to the right mail folder is stupid!! Searching the frums, this was meant to be a 5.0 feature.

In any case, even when I manually choose get mail, it doesnt always do it!

Any pointer would be appreciated, as if I cant sort this out, I have to look at another solution!

Interesting that there have been no responses!

POP3 to corporate or enterprise is obviously not an issues, bu the consolidation of accounts is important for many SME's and one that should not be over looked!

You would have found the answer fairly quickly with a quick search of the forums. The feature you need to change the sender 'from' address is in Preferences/Accounts. To enable the polling of external mail services you need to do this:
Code:
Check the setting with:

zmprov gc default | grep zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval

enable it with:

zmprov mc default zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval=60
'default' is the COS and '60' is the number of seconds for polling, set it to whatever you like and it can also be specified in minutes e.g. 5m.

This feature is for polling external mail accounts, nothing else.

Phoenix,

I have seached the forums with the native search and google for pop3, all I found were coments to 'wait until V5'. I did not see you reference anywhere!!!

Thank you for that pointer, anyway.

About sending emails from additional domains? I have added the additional domains and chosen them on sending, but everything comes from the main, server, domain. I will double check you comment and report back.

You'll also need to make sure that the option 'Allow sending email from any address' in the admin ui and then modify (or add) a Persona on the settings page I mentioned.

su - zimbra

Other info you'll probably be interested in- say you wanted to modify the time on one account:
Quote:
zmprov mds user@domain.com [Data source external IMAP/POP account name] zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval 300s
zimbraDataSourceMinPollingInterval is usually 60s or 1m or 2m
zimbraFeatureMailPollingIntervalPreferenceEnabled should be set to TRUE

To cancel polling, set the attribute value to an empty string ("") or 0.
Keep in mind that zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval gets inherited from the COS to the account to the data source. If a child object sets the value to "" it inherits the parent's value - if set to 0 it's turned off.

There's also Bug 22114 - Expose external account polling interval in UI (of course at an admin minimum time allowed to not increase the load too much...)
