OK, I have now set the account preference to 'allow to send from any account' (it already was).
I have set up a persona.
I write a message and choose an account to send through:
issue 1 - There are now 2 accounts listed - the pop3 & persona (yes, I can change the name, but have ing is silly, isnt it?

Issue 2 - When I send the email, it still comes from the master domain!

Do you have 2 persona's & 1 external account listed? Or 1 primary persona & 1 external account?
If there's 3, instead of making a new persona, set it in the external account itself.

See pics of the different options in external account vs persona.
In my case user@domain.com is the account, & I've manually written in test@domain.com (the external account) on the from fields.

Ahh, I was trying the command as root! Now in as zimbra and for
zmprov gc default | grep zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval
I get no response (back to prompt)
For
zmprov mc default zimbraDataSourcePollingInterval=60
I get:

usage: modifyCos(mc) {name|id} [attr1 value1 [attr2 value2...]]

zmprov [args] [cmd] [cmd-args ...]

-h/--help display usage
-f/--file use file as input stream
-s/--server {host}[:{port}] server hostname and optional port
-l/--ldap provision via LDAP instead of SOAP
-L/--logpropertyfile log4j property file, valid only with -l
-a/--account {name} account name to auth as
-p/--password {pass} password for account
-P/--passfile {file} read password from file
-z/--zadmin use zimbra admin name/password from localconfig for admin/password
-v/--verbose verbose mode (dumps full exception stack trace)
-d/--debug debug mode (dumps SOAP messages)

zmprov is used for provisioning. Try:

zmprov help account help on account-related commands
zmprov help calendar help on calendar resource-related commands
zmprov help commands help on all commands
zmprov help config help on config-related commands
zmprov help cos help on COS-related commands
zmprov help domain help on domain-related commands
zmprov help list help on distribution list-related commands
zmprov help misc help on misc commands
zmprov help mailbox help on mailbox-related commands
zmprov help notebook help on notebook-related commands
zmprov help search help on search-related commands
zmprov help server help on server-related commands

I would have thought that 'messages sent from this account have th e following settings' would be changeable to the account I want, but this is un editable!

Most likely you need to set 'allow sending mail from any address' & refresh/reload the web-interface...

So what do you have set where? Here's a sample of some of the things you can do...

Admin side:
allow send from any address.png
allow send from these accounts.png

What does it look like on the user side?
send from any.png
send from defined or aliases only.png (aliases are auto-added)
send from main account only.png
Attached Images
File Type: png allow send from these accounts.PNG (10.4 KB, 67 views)

yeehhh!

I was just about to write and moan again, but after entering as per top right, it gave me access to bottomh right!!!

I THINK all is now well, but I am going to fiddle a bit more!

In pre-emprion of success - thanks!

Now I just need to revisit the pop collection issue!
