Default Invalid Credentials - 5.0 RC2 to 5.0.1

On upgrading from 5.0RC2 to 5.0.1 I get an "Invalid Credentials" on connecting to LDAP.

ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext) (cause: javax.naming.AuthenticationException [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials])

I have tried the threads suggesting certificate recreation and adding no TLS - all had no effect.

I have even tried changing the passwords (After generating one with slappasswd) - no effect.

The other threads I have seen seem similar to this one, but not complete, I am not sure where the problem lies. It has definitely something to do with authenticating to LDAP, either SSL or Passwords.

Default I love Zimbra... but really...

In the past 18 months of running Zimbra, not one upgrade has gone smoothly. Every one has required at least an evening of research along with many many manual configuration changes...

Once it is running though it is rock solid.

Default

I think I have a clue...

if you use "zmprov" on the 5.0 RC2 it says "ERROR: account.AUTH_FAILED (authentication failed for zimbra)"

But if you use "zmprov -l" it all works fine.

I am guessing, but maybe 5.0.1 only uses the SOAP method, and it is not working from the command line.

This then effects the upgrade.
