Default new install, postfix errors when trying to send out emails

I have to relay mail through our ISP. I've setup the relay_password file at /opt/zimbra/conf following the wiki article from zimbra.

What else could this be?

an 14 21:38:09 mail zimbramon[15986]: 15986:info: 2008-01-14 21:38:01, STATUS: mail.epione.org: mailbox: Running

Did you check the Troubleshooting section of that article?

The new problem I have now, is that when I relay mail using Gmail as a smart host, it replaces the from Address with the Gmail ID.

For example, if I were to send a mail from "abc@customdomain.com" using Gmail as the relay host and Username/password combination, when I receive the mail in the destination ID, the 'From' address reads "GmailUsername@gmail.com" instead of "abc@customdomain.com".

Is this a Gmail issue ? Is there any way I could sort if out from the Zimbra perspective ?

Regards,
Krish

The smart relay server shouldn't modify the from field, could you try and relay through your ISP and see what happens?

I will try out with other servers and revert back in a few hours.

Cheers,
Krish
