Default need ideas for fixing botched 4.5.5 to 5 upgrade

hello,
I'd like to know how I can save my emails from a botched upgrade.
First of all, I did everything wrong (late at night, didn't do backup before starting upgrade, didn't read release notes!!)

So, I'm on sles9 (now upgraded to 10). I tried installing zimbra 5 for sles10 on sles9 (I know, this is dumb but like I was saying I was having a very blonde moment!)

The upgrade got errors about halfway into the procedure. By then it occurs to me to read the notes about sles10. It says version 5 MUST run on sles10 - now I realize I'm in trouble.
Then I realize I didn't do backups before upgrading. I have the backups over-write every night so I have no historical backups (can't go back a week).

So, the only backups I have are from the botched upgrade.

All I'm really concerned about are the emails (no docs). zimbra uses cyrus - I've seen (and done) restores to cyrus on other mail servers. It's not that hard.

So, my question is the following:
I was running 4.5.5. If I install this again (clean) and make the users I need to restore - can I take the cyrus emails and put them back to those users and run a reconstruct? Where does zimbra place the cyrus users' data? On a clean sles9 install, cyrus puts email data at /var/spool/imap/user/...
Under the user directory are all the cyrus email accounts with their email data.

thanks,

Oskar

Can you post the logs for the upgrade? It would be best to recover the upgrade if possible.
