Unhappy i made a mess 4.5.6 -> 4.5.10 to a future 5.0 FOSS
Hi all ....

I'm not lucky with zimbra today.
and i really need some Help

i just tried to upgrade our mail server 4 hours ago... and ... let me tell you the story:


i made a backup of one of server on debian 3.1 - Zimbra 4.5.6 GA.

i start the install of the 4.5.10... and ... the power cut !

by this way, we discovered the server was not installed correctly in the it room.

but the story stop not here.

I'm very unlucky.

i tried the dummy installation to keep back the old system and put back the 4.5.6... and he wont ...

result : no mail
users are waiting (50 users.... i know it's not alot...but;..)


i want to know if there is a method to reinstall a clean install of zimbra 4.5.10 and inject all folder : store, index, mysql, openldap-data...


please ... HELP !!!!!

after put back the backup , i have this :

You should get your server up and running with the zimbra version you were running when you made the backup (4.5.6).

If you have restored from the backup, make sure your permissions are right (run /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms). Then run the installer against your restore and choose upgrade when it asks you. If all goes well, you will be back up and running with 4.5.6 and you can reattempt the 4.5.10 upgrade from there (or go home at least)

Did you get any errors when the installer ran? Please post your installer dialog if possible. Also can you post your /tmp/zmsetup.log and /tmp/install.log?

after made an alias

Perhaps ldap data is corrupt. Of course the following assumes that you have a good backup (as you mentioned).

Stop all running processes, and make a special effort to make sure slapd isn't running.

Export your ldap data, remove, and reimport per
http://www.zimbra.com/blog/archives/...ap_data_1.html

Note that slapcat and slapadd are located in /opt/zimbra/openldap-2.3.34/sbin

After you have imported, try running the installer again.

i tried no success


i reinstall all and lucky (:s) users have imap account with all their emails


i will never upgrade zimbra i guess ..... too much stress :s
