Default correct upgrade path?

I have a question regarding upgrading.

right now we use zcs-4.5.2_GA_699. We purchased the network version but have not upgraded yet. What is the best path to get to 5.0 network?

4.5.2 OSS upgrade to 5.0 OSS, then 5.0 OSS - network?

OR

4.5.2 OSS to 4.5.2 network, then to 5.0 network?

thanks!
Robert

Welcome to the forums,
Should technically be your choice - what operating system platform?
ie Want to make sure you can do those upgrades see http://www.zimbra.com/products/sunset_binaries.html to understand what I'm talking about.
Network Edition Moving from Open Source to Network Edition ZCS - Zimbra :: Wiki
Make plenty of backups & be sure you're sending/receiving mail at each hop - it's harder to downgrade zcs.
By all means don't step through all the releases -it's pointless- but you can always do 4.5.10 in there if you want for a level of comfort.
If you're on RHEL/CentOS or have old certs let us know.

doh! guess that would be helpful, huh? -lol

we are using centos 4.4. I plan on doing all this on a seperate pc first using dnsmasq to fix the FQDN. If all goes well, then do it on the production server.

I guess the brings up another question, should we update to centos 5? and if so how does that fit with my previous question?

Ok so, as you're going to be on NE you really should use one of the officially supported platforms as listed at /products/downloads.html or the Zimbra Product Portal - Release 5.0

You can change platforms by using this process: /blog/archives/2007/10/moving_zcs_to_another_server.html

If you choose to stay on CentOS/RHEL(mainly 4) see Upgrade to 5.0 from 4.5.9 fails or first installation ZCS 5.0GA on centos 4.6 failed

The certs stuff (fixed in 5.0.1): If you have trouble with Zimbra 5.0, Read this:
