Exclamation Zimbra 5 - Thunderbird Error: Application Out of Memory

I just upgraded my mail server from 4.5.9 to 5.0.0 GA (OSS, obviously).

I've never experienced this before, but at least two of my Thunderbirds are constantly throwing "Application Out of Memory" errors - which are wrong to begin with, since it isn't out of memory. I had no problems before the upgrade. I'm almost tempted to restore 4.5.9, because it makes Thunderbird (my main method of access) almost unusable.

The error occurs sometimes when I click on a different folder. It does not usually happen once I successfully download/sync a folder.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am connecting over IMAP(S).
EDIT2: I also forgot to say Thunderbird 2.0 (latest release), and it also occurs without any extensions or themes enables. It also occurs on a brand new Thunderbird profile, with default settings.

final edit: I decided I can't wait for an anser - I am trying to revert to 4.5.9 (thank goodness for backups).

Help!

Thanks,
- Phil DeJarnett

Just an update - my backup restored just fine (thankfully), and I am no longer getting the errors anywhere.

BTW: I noticed that my zmmtaconfig.log is 1.8Gb! Is this a file I can safely delete or truncate?

After you see if you have any revelant logs, how about upgrading to 4.5.10 in the meantime? (and test some more > 5.0 on a sandboxed devel machine)

You can generally delete that log, [SOLVED] running a version 4.5.6 or prior? Prevent Large Log File

I started seeing the same thing yesterday. If I click on a sub-folder in Thunderbird, I get an "application is out of memory" error. I can then click a different sub-folder and then click on the original sub-folder and the message list loads with no error.

Bugzilla #: Bug 23323 - Thunderbird gives "application out of memory" errors on opening IMAP sub-folders
