Default login/zmprov error

Hi guys,

I have just complete a installation of zcs-4.5.10_GA_1575.RHEL5 on centos 5. The installation went well and the service start up and running but I am unable to login and assuming my password could be incorrect I try to use zmprov to change it but got the errors below. Any idea why this could be. my A and MX points back to the zimbra host.

Connection refused would mean that a service isn't running (run a 'zmcontrol status)' or there's a firewall or SElinux blocking you - they need to be disabled on the Zimbra server.

bill,

Thank you.

seLinux is disabled and there is no firewall running on the system. It is a virtual private server running on a host behind a firewall but I am sure the ports am using are open. How will I know what port/service this command is trying to use. This way I can at least know where the issue is. There are so many logs but can't find a log with any information related to this error. And the services are running

[zimbra@mydomain bin]$ zmcontrol status
Host mydomain.net
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Running

How much RAM is allocated to this VM? Does it have a public IP or is it on a LAN? If it's on a LAN you'll need a Split DNS setup. Try the following on the zimbra server:

Code:
host `hostname` <-- type as-is with backticks not single quotes
dig yourdomain.com any
dig yourdomain.com mx
and post the results.

According to this test you appear to have Sendmail running as a mail server. Stop it, disable it from starting and start the Zimbra services again.
