Hi Phoenix,

The one OE doc mentions using cp -rp /opt/zimbra [location of backup]/zimbra_backup. I thought we should be using RSYNC?

Also - not to be a pain - but a while ago you had posted a response to me using webmin to backup the /opt/zimbra location. This is what I have been doing, but would like your input on this (it is using TAR for instance).

Thanks,
Rob

I'll let Bill respond to whatever webmin thing he has you doing, but in general, rsync is way faster because it won't exert too much work on the 2nd sync (it can skip already transfered/unchanged material), which makes it great for backing up locally or to another machine. mmorse - thanks. Looking at the link you just sent me, it is very close to the procedure I attempted to use when moving to another server.

Would rsync -avr /opt/zimbra /backup/zimbrabackup work as well?
