Default Mainframe install with SLES 9

Hi,

I just got access to a Mainframe with SLES 9.
I downloaded the source, but I didn't see a make file. I'm a bit new to java and such and could use a few pointers.

One question I have is that can you run this with websphere?
I can't seem to find Tomcat for the mainframe.

This is part of a Proof of Concept. If I can get this to work, it could be a new architecture for Zimbra.

We're working on releasing our Perforce cache to the public. It's currently being tested by the Open Source Buildmaster team.

It should be available soon. Once it's available, we'll have instructions on building zimbra from source.

Default zimbrabuild directory java errors.

Hi,

I went to the zimbrabuild directory and got about 100 of java errors after trying to compile on the mainframe.

I wonder if this is because there are Tomcat/Sun JRE specific hard coding that doesn't work well with IBM's JRE.

Is there by any chance a precompiled ear file, and I can copy some specific libraries, or things that are available?

Bryan.

is this something like a multicore p5 exposed by a hypervisor? as long as there's a sun java for it, it should be quite feasible. would be very interesting, the 390 is a well respected linux beast. does it run rhel?

I don't think the SUN JAVA is available on the Mainframe so that means no Tomcat.

But I do know that Websphere App Server uses IBM's Java.

Is there an ear file I can download and install.

I know that WAS on x86 is exactly the same as WAS on 390. I've done migrations in the past and its painless.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
btanoue
