You're right. I'm sorry, I thought you had your existing LDAP instance. You should be pointing to your Zimbra LDAP instance, and the change pw thing should work.

So i got it working in the end, but I'm not sure if it is for what I did.
I made different fresh installations (uninstalling zimbra, removing /opt/zimbra, /etc/init.d/zimbra, all runlevels, and rebooting). I also untarred archive again.

Perusing the logs (I forgot /tmp/install.log.xxxx) I noticed this line:

Quote:
sh: /opt/zimbra/bin/zmfixperms.sh: No such file or directory
and a sequence of errors derived from this (unfortunately ubuntu purges /tmp on reboot so I lost logs for tracking).

So while running setup, after it finished installing packages, I manually ran zmfixperms (the one in libexec) and finally I got it working.

It would be interesting to understand if this is an issue of the installer in this particular situation. I didn't find many posts on additional mail store servers. Maybe it would be helpful to start a wiki page on this topic.

btw- it's actually in /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms & should be ran as root

-i'm gonna mark this as resolved

Do you mean there is a bug in the installer? It's the installer trying to execute

Quote:
/opt/zimbra/bin/zmfixperms.sh
not me.

Shoot, I just skipped past "Perusing the logs (I forgot /tmp/install.log.xxxx) I noticed this line:"
Would you mind filing a bug?
