Default ubuntu upgrade to 4.5.9 fails

I am trying to upgrade my 4.5.7 to 4.5.9 and first of all support told me to run the installer as zimbra. I get an error that says must run as root. So I run it as root and now I am getting this error.

Checking for installable packages

Found zimbra-core
Error: attempting to install i386 packages on a unknown OS.
Exiting...

This is an upgrade.
I ran zmfixperms as root and that didnt help but didnt give an error either.
When I upgraded to 4.5.7 I had to call support because slapd wouldnt upgrade which left the server inoperable. I dont know whats wrong with my install but upgrades are not smooth. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Josh

Yeah, that's what I was worried about.

It's cool that people have been able to get their installations to work on stuff like 7.04, but I think what they often fail to remember is that this creates a big migration issue. We never know how the installer script is going to act in that type of enviroment.

So, you have 2 options:
edit /zcs/util/util.sh and comment out that whole section
(WARNING: It's there not to block you, but to protect you. There's no telling what can happen)

or
Backup /opt/zimbra to a remote location, and install Ubuntu 6.06

I know it sucks, and we want to help you, but this is exactly why we do not encourage modifying or tricking the installer.

Nope. Upgrades must be run as root. Especially in 4.5.9 as there are some significant changes to file permissions.

Does this look right

Release 4.5.9_GA_1454.UBUNTU6 DEBIAN4.0 NETWORK edition

I saw a bunch of stuff disappear in the admin pannel like license and it no longer shows the outlook connector download link.

hmm-
Don't know why license would disappear. Can you check to make sure all of your admin zimlets are installed?
