could I use another LDAP base for authentication ?
if i use this another LDAP base what do I have to do with the zimbra schema ?

zimbra can use a separate external ldap server to authenticate users, but not for a different domain name

bear in mind that you will need to have the users provisioned in zimbra even if they will be authenticated using an external server
