Default Mailing Lists revisited.....excuse my ignorance

We have been using X-Mail as our server for the last year or so and have been pretty happy with it except for one serious problem......spam. So we have changed over to Zimbra in hopes of better filtering and control. We allowed a few select staff members to make mailing lists that allowed for a single administrator for control as to who could send with it, or make modifications. Basically a private list. Can anyone give me any info on how to duplicate this feature and what additional software may be needed.

Many Thanks
Rick S

(Thought you haven't asked yet, from the other side: Bug 8099 - Ability for users to subscribe to DL plus another RFE that extrapolated this into a full DL browser in the web-client.)

In the meantime you can use this method for preventing who can send to the list: RestrictPostfixRecipients - Zimbra :: Wiki

If you would like to try on your own: /forums/administrators/1380-zimbra-mailman-howto.html

You could also setup a limited shell or a management portal to run CLI/SOAP to manage this - see Zmprov - Zimbra :: Wiki > Distribution List Provisioning Commands
