    Default ERROR: service.FAILURE

    The result of the command is
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/zimbra restart
    Host www.host-mailserver.com
    Stopping antispam...Done
    Stopping antivirus...Done
    Stopping ldap...Done
    Stopping logger...Done
    Stopping mailbox...Done
    Stopping mta...Done
    Stopping snmp...Done
    Stopping spell...Done
    Host www.host-mailserver.com
    Starting ldap...Done.
    ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext) (cause:
    javax.naming.CommunicationException www.host-mailserver.com:389)

    The command
    zmcontrol status
    ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext) (cause:
    javax.naming.CommunicationException www.host-mailserver.com:389)

    shows the same error
    whats happening
    quick help

    LDAP is not running. What did you do to the system? Any particular reason you needed to restart it?

    I dont know what ur talking
    my ladp is not running while installation
    if i need to start, what should i do?
    what is to be done for a good configuration.

    Ok so your installing for the first time it seems. That was not clear from your first post. Did you install libbind? Did you disable SELinux. Those seem to be common problems folks run into on their first install.

    yes i am did that
    i have installed it finally
    and everything is running

    Host www.host-mailserver.com
    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Running
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    then, when i try to login as adminstrator, like
    https:www.host-mailserver.com:7071/zimbraAdmin
    i see a blank screen after accepting the certificate
    the admin console is not visible.
    are my doubts childish...
    am sorry if they are............

    What browser? Version? Can you try both IE and firefox?

    i cannot try IE as its not there with me. I have firefox-1.0 version.
    What might be the possible problem Kevin?

    Hard to say what the problem is. What exact Firefox do you have? 1.0.7? If not you should update to 1.0.7 or 1.5

    firefox-1.0
    Tell me one thing Kevin, does it run on Firefox? If so, what versions? I have tried it in Opera. It says, its not compatible to MS versions.
    I want to use firefox.

    Hi

    It runs fine with FF 1.0.7 & 1.5 and Opera isn't a supported (yet) browser for Zimbra. Try clearing the cache if FF and see if that helps.
