Problem with restarting zimbra

What version are you running? I"m guessing it's an older version, so you should upgrade.

If not, then there's problem with the zmlocalconfig ldap settings.

do a:
su - zimbra
zmlocalconfig | grep ldap

To see the list of ldap server(s) that you have. Correct any erronius by running zmlocalconfig -e (attribue)=(server)
