Default Botched migration - Help!

I thought i sucessfully imapsynced my old mail server to the new one. Now i notice that my bosses mail quota is taking up half the amount of space that his mailbox was supposed to be. He noticed that he is missing mail as well.

I can't find any actual errors in the output from imapsync, although at the end it did say 31 errors and 501276767 bytes error.

I need to get the rest of the mail over to his account, but first I need to figure out how to create a copy of his mailbox so I don't damage it further..

Anyone know how to do this?

So he can keep working, why not make a 2nd account user.temp@domain.com
Imapsync to it & play around till you get all the mail there.
That way he can still continue to work mostly unimpeded, then once your sure an imapsync get's all the mail-sync the contents of user.temp > user.current (or if you really want from user.oldmachine > user.current)

While I suggest you find the source of the trouble with your imapsync, (to help you in other migrations!) if he needs it NOW, you can also open a thick-client like thunderbird and transfer his folder structure that way (append /tb to the username to keep the dates as they originally were).

so far that is the approach i am taking.
i will try imapsync from zimbra to zimbra.. Unfortunately it's not a normal maildir, I could have just copied the directory to another account.

To complicate the process, the mailbox in question is 8gigs

does anyone know of another method to copy the mail and index? both accounts will be on the same server.

imapsync took an entire day last time.

It sounds like a shameless plug, but it could help you in this situation. . even if you're just a trial.

to clarify for you, he's making reference to zmbackup>zmrestore to another account

If you are a NE customer (we have to assume OS unless you tell us) add your version info to your profile -heck you should do it either way.

EDIT:
Sseeing this I gather your not...sry, sometimes I don't like to dig deep through old posts - which is why we have that ZCS Version: tag in the profiles
