zimbra problem recieving mail TLS

hello, first of all, i'm quite new to zimbra.
using opensuse 10.3 and the newest zimbra version on the newest server, whitch i plan to replace in the old one's place.

1)with the newest server i have a problem to connect remotely using xmins - i type whatever i want, even knowing that there is such existing user - the window dissapear and then pops up again! is there anyone, who had had the same problem?

2)the working zimbra server has started to cause some problems. first of all, it is runing on RHEL4 version and zimbra 4.5, and i started to recieve phone calls, that some ppl could not send emails to my zimbra users. apparently it was solved changing smtpd_use_tls from yes to no, but the problem is - why restarting zimbra, this option is switching back to 'no'!? and could it be the only problem, that could cause this? the zimbra.log is showing that there is an incomming connection from somewhere, then it's saying that the connection has been lost and that's it..nothing more.

I would appreciate if someone could help little by little solve this.

Welcome to the forums,

First of all some log sections from the mta log -when you know someone is trying to sent but it doesn't work- would help out.

What other DNS & Protocol checks do you have enabled?

How did you change smtpd_use_tls? in a file? using a command? or the check boxes in global & server mta settings? (server overrides global)
