Default Unable to Stop/Start Zimbra without server reboot

New installation (less than one month), fails to start/stop without a server reboot. zmcontrol stop, indicates all is stopped, however the zmtomcatmgr.pid is not removed. The only way to restart Zimbra is to remove the /opt/zimbra/log/zmtomcatmgr.pid, then reboot server, and then issue zmcontrol start. Most of the time the mailbox needs to be re-indexed. I have searched the forum but have not found an issue like this...I have issued the command to reset permissions...it did not fix the problem....

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

Weird. What version/OS? Try re-running the installer with the -s option. ie:
./install.sh -s

Thanks that fixed the problem. The OS is SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586) VERSION = 9. One other issue, one user has 6 Drafts, however when the folder is opened there are no messages, and unable to delete.
