Ok enough is enough, I'm so feed up & annoyed with this product!. After weeks of trying to get this all working and finally succeeding the first time the Server goes down for a reboot it BREAKS! for no reason at all, there is nothing on port110 this is now the only server running in this office. I've re-installed at least 12 times with the same results!. After brining the server back up in its new cabinet we were going to go over to the NE edition, the server has now been down a WEEK now, My boss will tell me where to go if I mention Zimbra to him again! so it looks like I've lost a good opportunity to show what open source can do for our company, and i can see the MS Exchange box being powered back up shortly. In the mean time I'll check Scalix or whatever else is available.

    Sorry to hear that.

    Best of luck!

In case you want help, search the forums for tomcat not starting. I bet you've got imap proxy turned on.

jholder you were right! it was perdition causing the problem i had to:

    check lsof -i:110 which showed:-

COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
    perdition 6605 zimbra 3u IPv4 12547 TCP *op3 (LISTEN)

    shutdown perdition by:- zmperditionctl stop

then run tomcat:- tomcat start I now get:-
    zimbra@mail:/root$ zmcontrol status
    Host mydomain.com
    antispam Running
    antivirus Stopped
    zmclamdctl is not running
    imapproxy Stopped
    imap4 is not running
    imap4s is not running
    pop3 is not running
    pop3s is not running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Running
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    zimbra@mail:/root$

I can now access the control panel. Now my boss is away, i can just get everything back up & running and he'd by none the wiser

    Thanks!
