could not send email on zcs 4.5.6

Hello, Dear all,
Today, I installed zcs 4.5.6 , the installation sucessful, but I could not send email. always shows a error message as below. what does it mean? how to solve it? thanks in advance!

Check the error log "/var/log/maillog" and "/var/log/messages"
Check the mail server status "zmcontrol status" using user "zimbra". Send detailed log.

What particular OS do you use? and are your MX's and A settings correct? Is that server already in production?

My OS is opensuse 10.2 fresh installation, I set MX and A record in a separate DNS server, during installation, there is an error message says No MX found, must create domain, I create domain name as roquette.cn, before install zcs 4.5.6, I installed zcs 4.5.4 on other server also got this message, but It works fine.

the system is not in real production. just for test on my laptop.

I have the exact same problem here and same error message...

I can receive without problems any mail.

My server is internal running on RHEL 5 (we bought the network version 4.5.6), and we have a hardware firewall protecting the hole thing. The incomming and outgoing ports are open as they should.

The IP of the server is 192.0.0.8
The IP of the DNS Server is 192.0.0.9

This is setted properly in the networking configuration.

and this is my host file :

192.0.0.8 mail.botanique.be mail

I've created in the DNS server the related A and MX entries for this server. This happened after I had to turn off our servers due to electrical maintainance here in the building.

This problem is urgent for us... I've been trying to get the phone support team, but nobody answers me there right now. (The server is in production)

First, disable ipv6 on the Zimbra server the check the mynetworks setting.

I can connect to port 25 from here, it would appear you have another (if it's not Zimbra) mail server running - disable it from starting, stop or kill it and restart Zimbra.

I started again our old mail server (MDaemon) in paralel with the Zimbra Server...

And now Zimbra CAN send mail to any adress...


Why is this ? I really have no clue at all...

Without any diagnosttic information, I have no idea either. You are running a Split Domain, I guess?
