Default using port :8080 during installation.

We have set Zimbra to use :8080 because we want to use port 80 for our web application. It works fine but..... when I want to reinstall Zimbra, there is a option that asked me whether I wanted to keep the user list or overwrite it (I clicked yes for keeping the old data).Later during the install.. it failed. The only way is to reinstall it again by overwriting it. Is it because of :8080?

Default

Shouldn't be.

What failed? ldap, or the installer?
Your installation log should reveal what the issue is.
