Default Zimbra Setup: LDAP/Bind Error More

Hello, hello!

I'm setting up three new servers to replace one of our existing servers. I can't take our current server offline or disrupt mail. With this being the case, I need to setup Zimbra to take mail.domain.com, while mail.domain.com still points to a different server.

I will "flip a switch" and have everything instantly migrate to the three servers, including mail and new DNS setups. I, however, need to get everything setup on the current servers prior to flipping that switch.

Is there a way I can modify the server (hosts file, etc) or modify bind/LDAP not to spit our error 99?

This is what I get:

Initializing ldap...Failed to start slapd. Attempting debug start to determine error.
daemon: bind(7) failed errno=99 (Cannot assign requested address)
slap_open_listener: failed on ldap://mail.softwaremedia.com:389

I've modified the HOSTS file to show mail.softwaremedia.com as being that local machine (Both by internal IP and external IP) but I still receive the error.

Any assistance is appreciated. I have read prior forum postings, but my situation was not addresses as I need this working prior to making it live.

The error you are reporting appears to indicate that slapd cannot bind to port 389 on the system you are using. In general, this would be because something else (OpenDirectory?) is already listening on that port, or there is a hostname mismatch, etc.
